    The first (and only) time I shot a gun, I cried.
    Not because of the noise or the recoil—but because I suddenly understood the weight of holding something that could end a life with a single action. What sobers me now is how easily we carry a different kind of power every day: the power to shape a narrative, quietly and over time, without ever feeling the recoil.
